Simon Carswell has been appointed to the position of Finance Correspondent of The Irish Times. He was previously news editor of the Sunday Business Post, which he joined as a business reporter in 1999.
Simon will cover the area of banking and financial services for the newspaper, as well as general business and financial news and analysis. He is the author of Something Rotten: Irish Banking Scandals, which was published last year.
Originally from Limerick, he is a history graduate of Trinity College Dublin and has a masters degree in journalism from Dublin Institute of Technology.
