The Irish Times on the Web will be bringing the St Patrick's Festival to the world from today. Once again it is hosting a special site with a range of interactive features, including a free video greetings service.
The definitive guide to the St Patrick's Festival at home and abroad, The Irish Times on the Web will allow users to join in discussion forums and online polls where issues ranging from the sublime to the ridiculous will be debated. Users will also have the chance to say how they will celebrate the festival.
As well as the electronic postcards section, The Irish Times on the Web is providing a free video greetings service where greetings can be sent over the Internet from the front office of The Irish Times, D'Olier Street, Dublin, to relatives and friends living overseas.
This service will be available weekdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. from Monday, March 8th, to Tuesday, March 16th. For more information on this, email stpatricks@irishtimes.com or phone (353) 1 679 2022 ext 700.
"St Patrick's Festival '99" will also feature live coverage of the parade in Dublin and the fireworks display on March 13th.
Users can also enter the competition and have a chance to win a pair of round trip tickets to Ireland or tickets to New York for Irish entrants courtesy of Aer Lingus, plus a week's car hire courtesy of Argus Rent A Car for overseas winners.
