IRISH youth Robert Bright entered a plea of not guilty to murder and robbery and was remanded without bail when he was arraigned in a New York court yesterday.

The 15 year old, from Dunboyne, Co Meath, was charged as a juvenile with one count of murder, two counts of robbery and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in Nassau County Criminal Court, Mineola, Long Island. The charges stem from the robbery of a Long Island shop on December 7th last, during which Masood Sadiq (32), was shot dead.

Bright will appear in court again before Judge Jack Maxton next Monday, when the judge will consider whether Bright should appear in a line up for identification purposes.

His alleged accomplice, Richard Robin son, is accused of shooting Mr Sadiq. If convicted, the youth faces a minimum of five years to life and a maximum of nine years to life in prison.
