People who take their Trinity Balls really seriously might decide to recover from last night's event by flying to England for the first London Trinity Ball which takes place tonight. Organised by Edward Boyd, chairman of the TCD Young Alumni Group in London and his committee, 350 young and not so young graduates and friends will dine and dance in the Savoy Hotel. Law professor and former students' union president Ivana Bacik will be among the revellers, along with Norah Kelso from Trinity's alumni office; chairman of Trinity's Boat Club, Rob van Mesdeck; former rugby international Hugo Mac Neill; Frank Swan of the Bank of Ireland, which is sponsoring the event; Rory Tobin of Goldman Sachs; Denis Quillet of Banque National de Paris and his wife, painter Lindy Foss-Quillet and many young turks and turkesses from the City.
Rumour has it that some enthusiasts are attempting to break records by attending three Trinity Balls in one week, having already taken in last Saturday's New York Trinity Ball at the Yale Club. You definitely need stamina for that Trinity degree!
