Israel has been accused of executing five Palestinian policemen whose bodies were found in a building in the West Bank town of Ramallah. Most of the policemen had been shot in the head.

Hassan Asfour, a senior Palestinian negotiator, said the policemen were executed in cold blood and said it was "a clear example of the collective execution policy adopted by the Israeli government against the Palestinian people."

The men's ID cards were scattered on the floor, and the walls were splattered with blood.

Maher Shalabi, bureau chief of Dubai Television, said Israeli soldiers had entered the building the night before. Shalabi said he had heard gunshots from his office, where soldiers had ordered him to remain.
