An Israeli man was found shot dead in the West Bank today, and the army suspected he had been killed by a Palestinian, military sources said.
The body of the man in his fifties was found near the village of Deir Ghassaneh, and the army was investigating the motive for the killing, the sources said.
Israeli media said he had been bringing sand to a Palestinian cement factory and was a frequent visitor to the area despite warnings from the army that it was unsafe.
Hundreds of Israelis have died in shootings and bomb attacks since the start of a Palestinian uprising in 2000. More than 2,600 Palestinians have been killed over the same period.
