Israeli forces killed three Palestinian militants and a civilian during fighting in the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip today.
Six other gunmen and a civilian were wounded as Israeli troops backed by aircraft clashed with militant groups in the southern Gaza town of Rafah, the medical workers said.
An Israeli army spokeswoman said forces operating in the southern Gaza Strip had shot several gunmen.
Israel frequently carries out air strikes and ground raids against militants in the coastal enclave, in what it says is an effort to stop militants firing rockets into southern Israeli towns.
