ROME, MADRID - Italy's Senate will vote next Tuesday on plans to send an Italian-led multinational force to Albania. The Chamber of Deputies is expected to vote on Wednesday. Italy hopes to begin deploying a force to Albania next week to secure the airport in Tirana and ports and transport systems for humanitarian aid shipments.

Meanwhile, eight players and one trainer of Albania's under-21 soccer squad have abandoned their team in Madrid and asked Spain for asylum.
