Italian police have arrested 26 people and seized €15 million in a raid on a suspected international drugs ring, they said today.
Albanians and Serbs were among those arrested in the raids in the Trento region in northeastern Italy. Police said they were involved in importing heroin and cocaine into Europe from Turkey and South America.
The raid was part of a coordinated investigation with police from Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Luxembourg and Croatia. Police seized 76 kg (168 lb) of cocaine and 26 kg of heroin.
