Rangoon - A British human rights activist, Ms Rachel Goldwyn, walked free from Burma's Insein jail yesterday after the ruling military granted her clemency six weeks into a seven-year sentence for sedition.
Ms Goldwyn (28) was released following intense lobbying by British diplomats after she was detained for a solo protest in September against military rulers whom she accused of "genocide". She had chained herself to a lamp-post and sung a pro-democracy song in a Rangoon marketplace.
