Jailed for theft from hospital

A man who stole jewellery belonging to a patient in a Dublin hospital has been sentenced to 10 months imprisonment

A man who stole jewellery belonging to a patient in a Dublin hospital has been sentenced to 10 months imprisonment. Thomas Byrne (25) of Landen Road, Ballyfermot, pleaded guilty at Dublin District Court yesterday to stealing £105 worth of jewellery from St Anne's Hospital, Northbrook Road, Ranelagh, on April 28th and attempted burglary at Leeson Park on the same date.

Byrne was arrested after he was seen trying to break in a door on Leeson Park and vaulting over garden hedges. The jewellery was found on him.
