Jamaican sprinter Patrick Jarrett is to face a Jamaica Amateur Athletic Association (JAAA) tribunal onFriday after his positive test for steroids at the national championships.

Jarrett, who trains in North Carolina under the coach to US sprint queen Marion Jones, arrived in Jamaica earlier this week todefend himself in front of the five-member JAAA panel.

The 100-metre sprinter tested positve for stanozol after competing at last month's national championships, where his second-place finish earnedhim a place in the World Championship team for Edmonton, Canada, in August.

Jarrett faces a two-year ban from the International Amateur Athletic Federation if found guilty.
