Jennifer Capriati steamed through the second round of the French Open in baking conditions on the Philippe Chatrier Centre Court today, beating Emilie Loit of France 6-2, 7-5 in 65min.
US fourth seed Capriati ripped through the opening set with three breaks of serve, though she did drop her own once.
In the second she found herself trailing 0-2 before breaking back, only for Loit to move doggedly to 5-2.
But Capriati slowly turned things around and a break had her edge ahead at 6-5 before she won on her third match point.
