Tony Dobbin was taken to the Borders General Hospital, Melrose today with a shoulder injury after taking a crashing fall on Sunday Rain in the Pat De Clermont Handicap Chase at Kelso.
Sunday Rain was fatally injured in the fall at the third fence and Dobbin, who initially appeared to be partly trapped by the gelding, was attended by paramedics before being stretchered into an ambulance.
Clerk of the course Jonnie Fenwicke-Clennell said: "Tony has gone for X-rays and we don't know the extent of the injury at the moment."
