Germany's Timo Glock will drive for Jordan when the team get their first test of the year under way in Barcelona tomorrow.
The 21-year-old finished fifth in the Euro Formula 3 series last year, competing against Austrian Christian Klien who has been handed the second race seat at Jaguar this season.
"Timo Glock is probably the most promising young driving talent in Germany at the moment," said team chief Eddie Jordan who gave two other Germans - six-time world champion Michael Schumacher and his brother Ralf - their first starts in F1.
"I'm delighted that we are able to offer him his first F1 test. He's come up through the junior categories quickly and with good results so I'm optimistic that he will be very significant in the future of German motorsport.
Glock said: "I am proud to be invited to do a test with Jordan Ford as it has been my biggest dream to drive in Formula One.
"I am quite nervous but as always I will do my job to my best ability and as soon as I sit in the car I will be ready.
Jordan have already announced that they will give Belgium's Bas Leinders his first F1 experience on the second day of the four-day test at the Circuit de Catalunya on Wednesday.
The Silverstone-based outfit are the only team still to finalise their 2004 driver line-up with Britain's Ralph Firman and Allan McNish, and Dutchman Jos Verstappen among the candidates.
