The threat of industrial action at the Belfast Telegraph newspaper has been lifted after a deal was reached between management and the National Union of Journalists (NUJ).
Journalists at the North's top-selling daily paper went on strike earlier this month for the first time in 20 years in a dispute over pay.
The industrial action arose after the journalists rejected a 3 per cent pay offer; they were seeking parity with their colleagues in Dublin.
The NUJ today said it had successfully concluded talks and that the threat of industrial action had been withdrawn.
Irish Organiser Mr Des Fagan said: "Following local negotiations, proposals to improve the original management offer were accepted. The proposals include additional holidays and a further editorial pay review in addition to the 3 per cent increase."
