Television film of the Michael Stone incident at Stormont has to be handed over to police investigators, a judge ruled yesterday.
The PSNI applied for an order compelling the BBC, UTV and RTÉ to give them unused footage to assist with their inquiries.
Det Sgt Paul McParland told Belfast Recorder's Court that he also wished to get access to film in a BBC camera that was left running when it was abandoned as pandemonium broke out in Parliament Buildings last Friday.
Judge Tom Burgess said he was satisfied the various film clips would be of value in the public interest and, as there was no representation by the various TV companies, he granted the order, which was sought under the Terrorism Act.
He said the order included the film in the abandoned camera, which was recovered by bomb disposal experts.
