A High Court judge will visit Lissadell estate in Co Sligo today to assess at first hand issues before the court.
Mr Justice Bryan McMahon is hearing the case, in which the owners are challenging Sligo County Council over issues of public rights of way.
Joint owner Edward Walsh said the council’s actions were “designed to humiliate, embarrass and undermine everything that had been done” at the estate since he and his wife bought it in 2003.
He described as “an absolute shaft” the council’s resolution to amend the Sligo development plan to provide for “preservation of the public rights of way” at Lissadell.
