A JUDGMENT for €11,786 registered against a company belonging to Wexford TD Mick Wallace is being withdrawn, the deputy has said.

Mr Wallace said his company was in negotiations with Hydro International (UK) Ltd about the matter. The judgment against MJ Wallace Ltd was being withdrawn as his company was not given proper notice to defend itself, he said.

A woman at Hydro office in Rathcoole, Co Wicklow, said the person to speak to about the case was away. Hydro supplied equipment to a residential development in Dominick Street, Dublin, that would have allowed rainwater from the roof to be used in the toilet system.

“It was an eco-friendly system. We put it in place and they were to commission it. They were to be paid once they got it going but they got afraid they wouldn’t be paid. It reached an impasse,” said Mr Wallace .

The judgment amount was the equivalent of the cost of the equipment, Mr Wallace said.

The Wexford deputy’s construction business has substantial debt but its loans have not been transferred to the National Asset Management Agency as they are mostly from non-Irish banks.
