The Court of Criminal Appeal has reserved judgment on an appeal by two men against their convictions and 12-year sentences arising from a petrol-bomb attack linked to a family feud in Limerick.
In May 2003 Limerick Circuit Court was told that Michael Stanners, now aged 20, Delmege Park, Moyross, and Noel Price, now aged 26, Kileely Road, Limerick, carried out a petrol-bomb attack on the home of Mr Philip Treacy, Gillogue House, Clonlara, Co Clare, on May 17th, 2001.
Two petrol bombs were thrown through the windows of Mr Treacy's sittingroom, causing between €14,000 and €15,000 worth of damage. Det Sgt Jim Ryan said the incident had its origins in a family feud ongoing since November 2000. He said Mr Treacy was a hard-working baker and was not directly involved in the feud.
Mr Justice McCracken, presiding, and sitting with Mr Justice Murphy and Mr Justice de Valera, said the court would reserve judgment.
