Caracas - Eighty-three Venezuelan judges have been suspended and 28 fired by a commission charged with reorganising the country's judicial system, the panel chairman announced yesterday. "Justice did not function in Venezuela for 40 years. This could continue for some time. . . this phase of purifying the judiciary," the commission chairman, Mr Manuel Quijada, said.
