Remember A House? Junkster would do well to. For when their elder colleagues talked about bands "where image is king and music a poor relation" it's people like Junkster they had in mind.
Junkster pedal a sort of groovy, feel-good, everybodydance type of vibe, which is all very well, but when they tried to crank up the volume or break out into a chorus they sounded like a cheap tranny turned up too loud. In aiming for an INXS slickness, they over-sampled everything, turning the drums, two guitars and bass into a sonic soup which drowned out the vocals - beautifully tuneful but distressingly weak. And when they reduced the volume, as for the limp Going Down, they were disappointingly banal.
This is a pity, because Junkster work hard - with their logo flashed everywhere and slides projected on to the stage backdrop, they looked like Catatonia let loose on the set of Zoo TV.
