The Jurys Doyle hotel group today reported strong half year results with pre-tax profits of euro 32.82 million (£25.2 million), up 18 per cent for the six months to October 31st 2000.
Jurys said sales for the six-month period were euro 130 million against euro 109.49 million for the corresponding period in 1999. The company said trading for the months of November and December 2000 remained strong and is ahead of the corresponding months of last year.
Earnings per share were reported at 45.4 cents against 38.4 cents, with an interim dividend of 7.174 cents, up 19 per cent.
The company added the group's strategy continues to focus on organic and acquisitive growth in city locations, achieving a segmental spread and a balance of business between corporate, leisure and tourism.
Work on the Jurys Inn in the centre of the London Borough of Croydon is scheduled for completion in January 2002, it added.
