There was huge surprise in Dun Laoghaire this week when Barry Andrews, son of the Minister for Foreign Affairs, failed to be selected to run for FF in the June local elections in the Booterstown/Blackrock ward. There were only 14 votes and they went 8/6 to Barry Con- way. But all is not lost. Local deputy Mary Hanafin ensured that young Andrews was added to the ticket at the party's national executive on Thursday night. The way seems clear for him now to follow in his father's footsteps.
