Irish mineral exploration firm Kenmare Resources has won a contract to sell ilmenite to an unnamed "major consumer".

It said the customer is one of the "world's largest" consumers of ilmenite, which is a titanium dioxide mineral.

Kenmare said the agreement covers a "substantial" proportion of the ilmenite to be produced at Kenmare's titanium project in Moma, northern Mozambique.

No financial details of the contract have been disclosed.
