Washington - Independent counsel, Mr Kenneth Starr, who spent more than five years and $47 million investigating the President, Mr Bill Clinton, will leave his post next week and be replaced by one of his prosecutors, sources close to Mr Starr said yesterday.
They said Mr Starr would formally resign after heading an investigation that led to Mr Clinton's historic impeachment in the US House of Representatives and then acquittal in the Senate in the Ms Monica Lewinsky affair.
