Irish engineering company Kentz has been awarded a $250 million contract for the procurement, fabrication and site installation of the air-cooled condensers and associated equipment on a new power station in South Africa.
Kentz will co-operate with German-based GEA Energy Technology on the coal fired Medupi power station in the Limpopo Province which will be run by Eskom, the South African power supply and utility group.
It is the fifth major contract that Kentz International has announced since the company listed on the Alternative Investment Market in February 2008.
Earlier this week Kentz announced yesterday that KentzSMNM, a joint venture between Kentz Russia and SakhalinMorNefteMontazh (SMNM), part of the Rosneft group, had won a contract to provide site develpment, piling and road building to Flour Daniel Eurasia on Sakhalin Island on Russia’s Pacific Coast. It is understood that the deal was worth in the region of €40 million.
