Kerry Group plc confirmed its positive outlook for 2007 today, stating positive trading so far this year.
In a statement released following the group's AGM today at the Brandon Hotel in Tralee, the food company stated that it had experienced good trading performances to date this year.
Chief Executive Hugh Friel said that the group maintained a "solid performance" in the first four months of the year and said that despite the recent depreciation of the US dollar versus the euro.
He said: "The Group was confident of delivering an outcome for the full year in line with market expectations."
Kerry Group plc supplies over 10,000 food, food ingredients and flavour products to customers in more than 140 countries worldwide. The group, with headquarters in Tralee, employs some 20,000 people worldwide and has manufacturing facilities in 19 different countries worldwide.
Mr Friel said that the group's restructing, which began in 2006, was well under way and that the company's core businesses were "well positioned to compete effectively in the markets in which they operate".
"In the Group's Irish and UK consumer foods categories, the increased momentum towards premiumisation and increased demand for 'food-to-go' and quality convenient offerings continues to provide good growth opportunities," he added.
