Almost faultless kicking displays from David Humphreys for Ulster and Ronan O’Gara for Munster made it four wins out of four for Irish sides in European competition this weekend.
O’Gara kicked 23 points as Munster finally overcame Castres at Thomond Park in their Pool 4 opener this afternoon. Munster certainly needed his accuracy as the French side proved to be both dogged and difficult and never let the Munster men get too far ahead. Munster, however, will be dissappointed not to have scored more tries with their sole effort coming from centre Jason Holland.
Ulster’s David Humphreys also scored 23 points as they saw off Treviso in Italy by 33-28. They managed three tries through Andy Ward, James Topping and David Humpreys. Former Ulster fullback, Simon Mason, now with Treviso, also scored 23.
