Washington - Nguyen Ngoc Loan (67), the South Vietnamese general whose summary execution of a bound prisoner was depicted in a photograph that stunned the world in 1968, has died at his home in Burke, Washington.
The photograph of Gen Nguyen aiming a pistol pointblank at the grimacing prisoner's head moments before the trigger was pulled on February 1st, 1968, was taken by Eddie Adams and won a Pulitzer prize for the Associated Press.
