The King and Queen of Jordan are on a one-day official visit to Ireland that started this morning with a courtesy call to President McAleese at Áras an Uachtaráin.

Queen Rania Al-Abdullah attended a lunch hosted by the Government Chief Whip, Ms Mary Hanafin, and members of the Oireachtas at the nearby Merrion Hotel.
The king will meet the Minister for Communications, Mr Ahern, this afternoon.
