Amman - Jordan's King Hussein told his people in a satellite television broadcast yesterday that he has been diagnosed with a cancerous lymphoma that is curable.

King Hussein said in the interview that he had "ended the first phase of chemotherapy treatment which will be six cycles in total, with a pause of three weeks between each cycle, each of which is four days long.

"The doctors are optimistic for a full recovery because I'm responding very well to treatment," he said, seeking to reassure his countrymen.
