KLM has invited trade union leaders to a meeting on Thursday to discuss air alliances, three union sources have said.
Two of the sources told Reutersthey expected the union leaders to hear an outline of plans for KLM to join the Air France-led SkyTeam alliance, which they believe could be officially announced as soon as early September.
"We are getting close. There is a meeting on Thursday on alliance talks," one source said.
KLM, the most eligible bachelor of the European airline industry, has been mulling for more than a year whether to join SkyTeam's lineup or to link up with British Airways' oneworld grouping.
