A man who held a butcher's knife to a woman's throat when he robbed a Movie Magic video store and who was also caught selling heroin has been jailed for eight years. Stephen Walsh (20), of Coultry Grove, Ballymun, Dublin, pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to unlawful possession of the knife, robbery and having heroin for sale and supply in 1997 and 1998.
Walsh and two others stole £100 when they used a chisel to threaten a worker in a McDonald's fast-food restaurant on October 3rd, 1997. Walsh held the butcher's knife to the woman's throat in the Omni Park branch of Movie Magic on July 13th, 1998. Gardai also caught him at Ballymun shopping centre on August 4th, 1998, with heroin worth £2,000 and £510 cash.
