Seoul - South Korea's ruling New Korea Party emerged from a week of factional fighting at the weekend with a wound likely to prove fatal less than two months ahead of presidential elections.
The party rift has provided veteran opposition leader Mr Kim Dae-jung with his best chance of winning in the December 18th polls. Mr Kim has been heading all opinion polls with more than 35 per cent support. The New Korea Party has never lost a presidential election. - (Reuters)
