The Labour Party's annual conference opens in Dublin tomorrow, and between 600 and 800 delegates will attend the event at the RDS.
Mr Pat Rabbitte, the party leader, will address the conference at a closed session this evening. His formal conference speech will be televised live on RTÉ television at 8.30 p.m. tomorrow night.
The party's guest of honour tomorrow is Mr Robin Cook, the former British foreign secretary and president of the Party of European Socialists.
A special presentation, the James Larkin Thirst for Justice award, will be made to Fr Paul Byrne, director of the Irish Episcopal Commission for Emigrants, for his work with the Irish emigrant community in Britain.
