Three men arrested in Lancashire yesterday connection with an investigation into dissident republicans have been moved to London where they will be questioned by anti-terrorist officers.
Two of the men, a 35 year-old and 44 year-old, were arrested at the White Lund industrial estate in Morecambe at around 2 p.m. yesterday afternoon.
The premises on the Mellishaw Road where the arrests were made are being used by a van rental company.
The third man, a 48 year-old, was arrested in a vehicle nearby about an hour later.
The detentions were part of joint investigation by Garda and British police and followed the recovery of two handguns and a rifle at premises in Yorkshire, Lancashire and London.
A Garda statement said: "This operation is part of an on-going investigation into criminal activity in Limerick and also the activities of dissident Republicans/CIRA."
There has been no indication of where the men are from.
