Online retailer lastminute.com says it has formed a strategic partnership with mobile operator Orange to develop mobile retail software.
The British-based company - which sells last-minute holidays, hotel stays, theatre tickets and gifts - said today the software would allow Orange users to access its deals via mobile phone at any time.
"Mobile commerce is now becoming a reality," said Orange UK m-commerce manager Mr Ben Hirsch. "Through this strategic partnership, Orange UK and lastminute.com will use their combined expertise to bring additional convenience to our customers".
The partnership will also let lastminute.comexpand its distribution on the mobile platform via Orange UK's 12.55 million customers.
