There's laughs aplenty this weekend as the Vodafone Comedy Festival continues in Dublin while elsewhere, the Galway Arts Festival and the Killarney Summerfest are also on.
David O'Doherty, Maeve Higgins, Jason Byrne and PJ Gallagher are among the 65 Irish and international comedians who will be entertaining the crowds at the Iveagh Gardens over the coming days. As well as world-class comedy there is also street performers, live music and gourmet food and drink.
Elsewhere in the capital, Temple Bar celebrates 20 years with the Made In Temple Bar Festival, featuring We Cut Corners, the Dublin City Jazz Orchestra and Ryan Sheridan all performing on Sunday.
Also in Temple Bar, a series of family concerts is on at The Ark with singer Julie Feeney performing at 2pm and 4pm tomorrow and Sunday.
A number of concerts are taking place at Marlay Park in Rathfarnham over the coming days with The Coronas and KT Tunstall on tonight, the Villagers and Beach House tomorrow and Joanna Newsom on Sunday.
Peter Pan continues at the Grand Canal Theatre this weekend while other noteworthy events include Tom Tom Club at Vicar Street tonight and the reformed Engine Alley at Whelans tomorrow.
The Galway Arts Festival continues with hip-hop legends De La Soul teaming up with the Hypnotic Brass Ensemble in the Big Top tomorrow. Other must-see events at the festival include Enda Walsh directing Cillian Murphy in a new production of his 1999 play Misterman at the Black Box Theatre, and country singer Iris Dement in Campbells Tavern.
The Killarney Summerfest gets under way tomorrow in Co Kerry with a programme that includes outdoor activities, puppeteers, magicians and music. In Donegal, the Earagail Arts Festival continues as does the Bray Summerfest in Co Wicklow.
Cashier No 9 are among the performers at the Glasgowbury Music Festival in Draperstown, Co Derry, while Lisa Hannigan and James Vincent McMorrow will be performing at the Mitchelstown Caves in Co Tipperary tonight and tomorrow.
It's a busy weekend on the sporting front, particularly for GAA fans with major clashes involving Dublin and Limerick, Antrim and Galway, Tyrone and Armagh, and Waterford and Kilkenny.
There's also racing on at Wexford racecourse today and tomorrow and the Athea Road Race in Limerick.
Following the horrific weather earlier this week, the good news is that Met Éireann is predicting a mainly warm and dry weekend.
The forecaster says it will be dry and bright in most areas tomorrow with sunny spells and light winds. It will be cloudier in the morning in parts of the southwest with a risk of some rain near the coast but this will clear becoming dry as the day progresses.
Sunday will be a humid day across the country with temperatures reaching a maximum of 20 or 21 degrees.
