Tunis - Libya's highest legislative body said yesterday it was satisfied with plans for a trial in a neutral country of two Libyan suspects in the 1988 bombing of a US airliner over Lockerbie, Scotland.
Libyan television, monitored in Tunis, said the General People's Congress had also called on the three parties, Libya, Britain and the United States, to "remove any obstacle" preventing the trial from going ahead as soon as possible.
The United States and Britain, which led the way in imposing UN trade sanctions on Libya, have agreed to a trial in the Netherlands.
