Two nineteen-year-old cousins charged with the possession of an assault rifle for unlawful purposes have been refused bail at Limerick District Court.

Mr Ross Cantillon with an address in the St Mary's Park area of the city and Mr Roy Woodland from Thomandgate were appearing in court for a second time. Both have denied the charges.

They were arrested an charged with having a Kalashnikov AK47 assault rifle in Moyross on Friday August 23rd. They were arrested as part of an investigation into a shooting incident in the city over the weekend.

The men were remanded in custody.
