Gardaí in Limerick are investigating an incident in the city last night in which a 17-year-old male was injured when he was shot in the early hours of this morning.
The incident occurred at Craeval Park, Moyross at 00.15am when the victim was approached by two men wearing balaclavas, one of whom carried a sawn off shotgun.
Two shots were fired at the victim. He received serious injuries to his shoulder and back and was removed by Ambulance to Limerick Regional Hospital.
The scene was preserved for technical examination and Gardaí from Mayorstone Park are investigating.
