Liverpool and England striker Emile Heskey is set for a new £10million contract after the 24-year-old indicated he wanted to see out his career at Anfield.

Heskey has two years to run on his current deal but is likely to be offered an extension until 2007 by manager Gerard Houllier.

"We are very happy with Emile and we will be looking to do something over the summer," Liverpool chief executive Rick Parry told the Daily Express.

Heskey is in line for a £40,000 a week contract and the player is keen to sort out his future by extending his stay at Anfield, a club he joined for £10million from Leicester City two years ago.

"I can honestly say I would never leave here," said Heskey.

"Where would I go? I have a contract for another two years and I'll sign again, without question.”

"I feel at home at Anfield and I'd be happy to spend the rest of my career at Liverpool. I love it here."

“Heskey also paid tribute to his manager.”

"Gerard Houllier is just a brilliant person and a brilliant manager, and it's great now to see him back where he belongs after his health problems." - PA
