Liverpool 2 Middlesbrough 0
Liverpool look a step closer to the coveted fourth Champion's League spot after a convincing two nil win over Middlesbrough at Anfield this afternoon.
A Danny Murphy penalty and an Emile Heskey striker, both early in the second half, were enough to redirect Liverpool back in front of Aston Villa.
Murphy opened the scoring from the spot after Michael Owen was hauled to the ground by Chris Riggott, coolly slotting his shot to the right of Mark Shwarzer in the Boro goal.
