Kilmainham Gaol Museum and Belclare Avenue Community Group from Ballymun are the joint overall winners of the 1997 Guinness Living Dublin Awards. The museum won for its special exhibition on the history of the prison and its role in Irish nationalism, while the community group was recognised for a commitment to improving and maintaining the appearance of its area.
This is the fourth year of the awards, jointly organised by Dublin Chamber of Commerce, Dublin Corporation and Guinness Ireland as a means of improving the city and its surrounds.
