Progressive Democrats TD Liz O'Donnell has said she is looking forward to joining the board of the Communicorp group, one of the largest radio companies in the Republic.
The company is owned by businessman Denis O'Brien. Ms O'Donnell, a former minister of state for foreign affairs, will be a non-executive director of the company, which has shares in a number of radio stations, including 98 FM and Newstalk 106.
Ms O'Donnell said she saw no conflict of interest between her role as TD and membership of the Communicorp board, which she joined at the request of Communicorp chairwoman Lucy Gaffney.
She will receive a salary of around €30,000 for the post.
