The Department of Agriculture is expecting test results soon from the investigation into the deaths of all but one of Dublin Zoo's penguins. A spokesman said the tests were probably being carried out in the State laboratory and should be available in the next few days.
Eleven of the penguins died suddenly two weeks ago and the only surviving penguin, 10-year-old Percy (above), remains on his own in the enclosure. A Zoo spokeswoman has insisted that there is no link with paint used in the enclosure pool a week before the penguins died.
