Riverdance creator Michael Flatley will take his final bow in the last performance of his dancing career.
The American-born star announced that tonight's show in Dallas at the end of his Feet of Flames World Tour will be his swansong.
The 42-year-old star became an overnight sensation in 1994 when he launched the Riverdance routine in Dublin as the interval show in the Eurovision song contest.
Flatley then went on to become a multi-millionaire with his own sell-out stage shows. Earlier this year he revealed plans to star in and co-script a film version of his Lord of the Dance show.
A spokeswoman for Flatley said the star was bowing out at the peak of his career. "I think after seven years at the top and having such a successful world tour he has decided to go out at the top," she said.
Flatley was the first American to win the World Irish Dance Championships and has since won over 120 titles in 13 countries.
He achieved a record-breaking 21 sell-out shows at Wembley Arena in 1998 and was presented with the Irish American Award by the then US President Mr Bill Clinton.
