A lorry-driver appeared in court today over a fatal road crash in which a young boy died and six other people were injured.
Mr Barry Graham (35) of Primrose Garden in Portrush in Co Antrim was charged with dangerous driving at Kilcock District Court.
David Garvey, who would have been aged two on Friday, died in Slane in Co Meath yesterday when a lorry crashed into a car also carrying his mother.
Two other vehicles were involved in the collision, one being driven by his father.
Mr Graham was arrested by gardaí after the accident and questioned at Navan Garda station.
Judge John Brophy today told the court he required an independent surety of £6,000, with £2,000 payable today and he set bail at £450 with £150 paid today.
The boy's parents are understood to be in a stable condition in hospital.
