Families Against Intimidation and Terror (FAIT) has condemned a so-called punishment attack in which a 42-year-old man was injured by loyalists.
His left leg was broken in two places and his spleen was ruptured when three masked men beat him with sticks in his home in the Parkhall Estate in Antrim town.
He was treated in hospital for his injuries.
Mr Vincent McKenna, a FAIT spokesman, said: "The politicians in the Assembly must do all in their power to end these daily human rights abuses."
Meanwhile, a handgun and ammunition have been found in a south Belfast public house after management called police in to examine a suspicious package.
It was discovered in the men's toilets of the Chelsea Wine Bar on the Lisburn Road.
Drinkers were evacuated during the incident on Wednesday night but nothing else was found.
The weapons have been sent for forensic tests.
